Manufacturing

To manufacture our fairings , we only use epoxy resins , plain or twill glass and carbon fiber . All main  bolt holes on fairings  have 4-6 layers of carbon fiber or Carbon/Kevlar for extra durability and  two extra layers of carbon fiber or Carbon/Kevlar where panels meet each other  .  We do not use polyester gelcoat as it serves no purpose in this industry , instead we apply very thin epoxy top coat . Polyester gelcoat only adds weight , is brittle , no flex and often spider web cracks which makes it difficult to repair . Our molds are also made with epoxy , glass and post cured  . Polyester resins shrink 1-3 % , epoxy does not  . That is why so many kits have poor alignment and fit if molds and parts are made with polyester resins . We post cure all of our parts  in the mold at high temperatures for longer periods of time to give resins maximum properties and full cure . Most kits on the market made with polyester resins get released from mold and are not fully cured , which can cause deformation and poor fit/alignment . Without post curing , polyester resins can take up to weeks or even months to reach full cure . Epoxy compared to polyester resins has much higher impact resistance , is much stronger and has higher heat distortion with no shrinkage . That is why all performance parts and sports equipment are manufactured in epoxy with carbon and other composite materials and always post cured . You will never see gelcoat or polyester resin used in high quality race parts or sports equipment . We can manufacture your fairings exactly to your specs and needs . If you want light fairings to save weight , we can do it .  Or if you want a fairing to have more strength and impact resistance to protect your bike , no problem .  Tell us how you want your kit made and we will do it . I have worked in composites since 1988 . 100% manufactured in Canada using North American materials .
